The primary mission of Anderson Transition Center is to teach students self-determination and self-advocacy skills, increase community navigation, and make connections for students and families with post-secondary support adult students will need once they exit the school district.

SBCUSD welcomes the return of Chief John Guttierez as School Police Chief, marking a full-circle moment in his illustrious career.

A dedicated advocate for children and a respected law enforcement leader, Chief Guttierez returned to SBCUSD on March 18, bringing more than 30 years of experience and a commitment to student safety, well-being and community partnership.

A member of the award-winning SANKOFA instructional staff works with a small group of students. Both staff and students in the SANKOFA program wear SANKOFA t-shirts with a design inspired by African art.

SBCUSD Offers Full-Day Kindergarten and Award-Winning Programs

Online enrollment for kindergarten and transitional kindergarten (TK) in San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD) is underway. Children who will be five years old by September 1, 2026, are eligible to pre-enroll in kindergarten for the 2026–2027 school year. Transitional kindergarten is available for students who will turn five years old from September 2, 2026, to September 1, 2027.
